In 2015, West London Mental Health NHS Trust and West London Collaborative coproduced a conference that took place at the Double Tree Hilton in Ealing. Attended by 115 people, the event sought to understand the arguments around a patients right to take part equally in the decision making process. The event explored many perspectives and featured a Question Time style debate hosted by Lord Nigel Crisp.

"How is it possible for the service user to truly have an equal say in their medication or diagnostic label when their social security (i.e their benefits and housing) is reliant upon the professional opinion?"
